Today, Friday, January 9th, I jumped in the car and drove the two hours from Washburn, WI to the Conserve School Campus in Land O’ Lakes, WI. It’s always exciting for me to visit the place that has been so influential in my life. So many of my best friends attended the same Conserve semester as I, CS5, and so we share so many memories and commonalities that link back to our four months spent on the Conserve Campus. I’m here until Sunday afternoon when I start my journey back to Colorado, and in the mean time there will be lots of catching up on life, skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, and other activities. Having not seen some of the people from my semester for over two years, it was very cool to hear about what everyone has been up to. Some are in college enjoying Rugby, Ultimate, Skiing, or other sports that they play, some are taking gap years or have chosen not to go to college and are exploring the US and the rest of the world going on many adventures, a few are on exchange trips in foreign lands for a while, and a couple are finishing up in high school looking forward to attending the Air force Academy, and other colleges that they have been accepted into. After not seeing most people for such a long time, it’s sometimes hard to think of things to talk about because of different experiences, but with Conserve friends, we jumped right back into our friendship where we last left off. The school has had a few changes in classes offered and teachers, but the school has kept it’s same amazing ways. Other semesters where at the reunion also, so it was fun to hear their experiences and to compare the semesters. My friend Alex and I talked more about our plans to run the Kettle 100 and the training that will be involved. I’m going to leave this short because There are so many things to do, to talk about, and I’ve got the rest of the weekend ahead of me to look forward too.
