Today I'm headed back to Wisconsin for the Holiday season. It's been about four months since I've been home, so I'm pretty excited to be returning again. My journey started with hitching a ride yesterday (Thursday) from a student at Western State Colorado University. We left at 1:00 pm and he dropped me off at a light rail station just south of Denver. From there I took the light rail to the Denver Union Station, arriving there at about 4:00 pm. Perhaps the most boring wait that I've ever experienced, I hung out in the Union Station until 11:40 pm until I was able to catch a bus to the Denver International Airport (DIA). That brings you up to date with where I am now as I'm writing this blog post. It's 4:07 am on Friday morning and I'm waiting for my flight to Minneapolis. I have until 6:30 am until I fly out assuming that my flight will be on schedule. Hopefully I will be able to catch a little sleep on the plane, because once I arrive in Minneapolis at 9:30 am, my older brother will be picking me up. Rather than driving strait back to Washburn, WI after getting picked up, I have to hang out in the Twin Cities area for most of the day before my mother drives me the four hours back home. No food, no sleep, lots of hours, many miles. The life of traveling as cheap as possible.
One day I will repeat the summiting of Capital Peak, arguably the most difficult 14'er in Colorado, but next time I will run to the top and back. For now I will continue to dream.
It's been a while since I've posted on this page. I'm back. The journey continues.
